A Lesson for Sony?
We have probably all heard about the recent Playstation Network hacks and downtime but there are reports of problems for some Xbox 360 owners now as well, however according to Gamer UK and others Microsoft are handling this completely different to Sony.
Console owners affected by Microsoft's recent software update problems will receive a error message saying 'disc unreadable' or 'disc unsupported'. Owners of affected consoles should contact www.xbox.com/support/contact with the console details, where once MS have confirmed that the issue is caused by the recent update they will be sent a free of charge 250GB Xbox 360 Slim and a years subscription to Xbox Live.
This is in stark contrast to Sony's offer of 1 month of PSN plus and 1 free game from a selection of quite dated games.
Any owners of white 360's should check all their discs to see if they are affected as the problem is reported to be even affecting Xboxes as recent as 2009.
